Valentine’s day reminds us of the fact that the entire human race can be
united only by the energy love. Such a celebration is equally relevant
especially in the context of Tamilnadu/India being painfully divided by
certain social toxins such as religion, caste and creed. As a matter of
fact with the strength and fervour of love it may not be a herculean task
to go beyond national and linguistic boundaries in order to arrive at the
ultimate destination of universal brotherhood. It’s only the petty/mean
minded religious fanatics, who oppose the celebration of Valentine’s day or
lovers day on the basis of their pseudo affinity to Indian culture being
unable to acknowledge several allusions to the festivity of love in the
names of (Vasantha Vila) and (Indira Vila). However we ought not to be
deluded and carried away just by the superficial displays during
Valentine’s Day being blind folded to its underlying treasures. The story
may be from the west of a male saint, who was a Christian, who died while
trying to unite a lady and man in love. But some take today as a symbolic
day to wish their love to their mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters and
friends, whom so ever they love in different forms. Happy love day!
